Knitted Unisex Chunky Beanie Pattern

Wanted to knit a present for my dear husband before he come back from his overseas detachment.
Saw this charming moda vera wilderness yarn on sale at spotlight and decided to make a beanie for him.


This pattern is included in the yarn packaging.


Materials used: 6.5mm straight needles

Moda Vera Wilderness Yarn 100g x1 ball $10SGD only


Measurement: 56-58cm

Tension: 14St and 20 rows to 10cm over stocking st, using 6.5mm needles.


The packaging also got include another matching scarf pattern as well:)

Pattern for beanie:


Cast on 70 stitches.

1st row- K2, *P2, K2, rep from * to end.

2nd row- P2, *K2, P2, rep from * to end.

Rep 1st and 2nd row until work measures 11cm from beg, ending with a 1st row and inc 1 stitch in the center of this row. 71sts

Work in stocking st (begining with a knit row) until work measures 23cm from beg, endng with a purl row.


Shaping crown:

1st row- K1, *K2tog, K5, rep from * to end...61sts.

2nd and folling alternate rows- Purl

3rd row- K1, *K2tog, K4, rep from * to end...51sts.

5th row- K1, *K2tog, K3, rep from * to end... 41sts.

7th row- K1, *K2tog, K2, rep from * to end... 31sts.

9th row- K1, *K2tog, K 1, rep from * to end... 21sts.

11th row-K1, *K2tog, rep from * to end... 11sts.

Break off yarn, run end through remaning sts, draw up and fasten off. Join back seam, reversing seam for first 9cm for brim, sew in ends. Turn back brim:)
